In the presence of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the MOU was signed between the Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal department and Bank of Punjab. The MOU was signed by Secretary Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Javed Akhtar Mahmood and President of Bank of Punjab Zafar Masood. Rupees 10500 will be paid every quarter through Himmat Card to Persons with disabilities across Punjab. In the first phase 40 thousand and in second phase 25 thousand deserving PWDs will be issued Himmat card. The 30% quota has been allocated for women PWDs in Himmat Card. A special helpline 1312 has also been established for the support of PWDs. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to start payment through Himmat Card by 15th September. Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that it is the responsibility of the state to take care of persons with disabilities. They are very special to us. Provincial Minister Social Welfare Bait-ul-Maal Sohail Shaukat Butt, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Chairman P&D Nabil Awan, DG Social Welfare Amina Munir, and others were also present.
