Under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s initiative, the Assistive Devices Wheelchair Program (ADWC), the Department of Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Punjab organized a special ceremony for the distribution of assistive devices to persons with disabilities. Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Sohail Shaukat Butt and Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan graced the event with their presence. During the ceremony, the Social Welfare Department handed over 1,100 wheelchairs to the Transport Department to enhance mobility and accessibility for persons with disabilities in public transport. Furthermore, deserving individuals from Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Sahiwal divisions received electric wheelchairs, electric motorbikes, tricycles, and other assistive devices aimed at improving their independence and quality of life. Secretary Social Welfare Javed Akhtar Mahmood along with departmental officers also attended the ceremony, reaffirming the government’s commitment to creating an inclusive and accessible Punjab for all.
