An event was organized on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Department Punjab in collaboration with UNFPA. The Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Punjab, Sohail Shaukat Butt, was the chief guest of the event. Secretary Social Welfare Javed Akhtar Mahmood and Director General Social Welfare Sikandar Zishan, all directors and other officers also participated. Representatives of International organizations such as the British Council, FCDO, and AWAZ 2, along with NGOs and specially PWDs , attended the event. The program also featured a dialogue on the rights of persons with disabilities, and the efforts of the Social Welfare Department were acknowledged and appreciated. Awards were presented in recognition of the achievements of the persons with disabilities in different fields of life and services rendered by NGOs.
