Under the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Department of Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Punjab, in collaboration with the Special Education Department, will issue 40,000 Himmat Cards to students with special needs. The decision was made during a high-level joint meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Punjab Sohail Shaukat Butt and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Special Education Sania Ashiq. Senior officials, including Secretary Social Welfare Javed Akhtar Mahmood, Secretary Special Education Muhammad Khan Ranjha, and DG Special Education Shoaib Jadoon, also attended the meeting. The participants discussed mutual cooperation between the two departments for the welfare and empowerment of special students. Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, historic steps are being taken for the rehabilitation of special persons and marginalized groups. He added that the issuance of Himmat Cards will not only provide financial support but also enable special students to live with dignity. Special Assistant Sania Ashiq reaffirmed that, under the Chief Minister’s vision, revolutionary reforms are being introduced in the field of special education and welfare, and both departments are committed to ensuring maximum facilities for special students through a joint strategy.
