An appreciation ceremony was organized at the Governor House Lahore to pay tribute to the athletes who won medals in the Special Olympics by Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Department Punjab. The Special Olympics Games were held in Berlin, the Pakistani special athletes made the nation proud by winning 83 medals. Governor Punjab Engineer Baligh-ur-Rehman attended the ceremony as Chief Guest. Minister Social Welfare Dr. Javed Akram, Advisor to Chief Minister Wahab Riaz, Director General Social Welfare Muddassir Riaz Malik, UNFPA delegation, government officials and prominent personalities associated with social work were also present on this occasion. The Governor Punjab presented shields to special athletes on account of appreciation.
