Under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, “Disability-Free Punjab,” the Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Department Punjab has launched the provision of advanced bionic prosthetic limbs for persons with disabilities. The distribution ceremony was attended by Provincial Minister for Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Sohail Shaukat Butt as Chief Guest, along with Secretary Social Welfare Javed Akhtar Mahmood, DG Social Welfare Tariq Qureshi, and other officials. For the first time in Punjab, government-level bionic limbs powered by muscle electrical signals and artificial intelligence are being provided. In the first phase, 173 persons with disabilities have been selected, with 32 beneficiaries receiving prosthetic limbs immediately, marking a significant step toward dignity, independence, and empowerment.
