Under the CM Punjab "Dhee Rani Program", collective marriages were held in Lahore

Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a dignified collective wedding ceremony for 180 underprivileged brides was organized in Lahore under the “Dhee Rani Program.” The ceremony included 38 minority couples, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusivity and social harmony. Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Sohail Shaukat Butt attended as Chief Guest, along with Secretary Social Welfare Saira Omar, Director General Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, and other senior officials. The Government of Punjab fully sponsored the wedding arrangements, providing each bride with an ATM card worth Rs. 200,000, complete bridal attire, and comprehensive hospitality arrangements for guests and families. Addressing the ceremony, the Minister stated that the initiative represents the state’s responsibility as a guardian, ensuring that no daughter is deprived of marriage due to financial constraints. He highlighted that 3,000 collective marriages were arranged last year, while the target of 5,000 marriages has been successfully achieved this year, making the Dhee Rani Program a leading model of social welfare and public service in Punjab.
