Minister Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Punjab Sohail Shaukat Butt chaired meeting for the protection and rehabilitation of women with the assistance of the police. AIG Punjab Shahzada Sultan, Secretary Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Punjab Iqbal Hussain, DG Women Protection Authority Irshad Waheed and District Women Protection Officers of the department participated in the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to implement the Punjab Protection of Women Against Violence Act 2016 in collaboration with the police department and to formulate the best strategy in this regard. During the meeting, it was decided to train the women protection officers through the police department, introduce a dedicated helpline number for women victims of violence and establish women protection centers at the tehsil level.
