Secretary Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Department Punjab, Saira Umar, chaired a review meeting on the performance of Drug Rehabilitation Centers (DRC), Model Drug Abuse Centers (MDAC), and Socio-Economic Rehabilitation Centers (SERC). The meeting emphasized promoting education and vocational training for the welfare of women and children in prisons and highlighted the active role of Prisoner Welfare Societies and NGOs in the rehabilitation of prisoners. The performance of Drug Rehabilitation Centers and Model Drug Abuse Centers across the province was reviewed, and there was a strong emphasis on strengthening effective coordination with the Health Department for the rehabilitation of drug addicts. On this occasion, officials of the Social Welfare Department were instructed to ensure the effective and organized use of facilities provided to needy and deserving individuals.
