A meeting regarding Medical Social Services Units (MSSUs) was held under the chairpersonship of Secretary Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Punjab, Saira Omar. The meeting reviewed measures to ensure financial assistance for medicines to poor, deserving, and underprivileged patients, and to enhance their access to government welfare schemes. Director General Social Welfare Punjab, Muhammad Tariq Qureshi, along with other officers, also attended the meeting. The Secretary Social Welfare emphasized strengthening coordination with hospital administrations and doctors to ensure timely provision of welfare assistance. Directions were also issued to improve the performance of Patient Welfare Societies, enhance coordination between social services and the health department, and introduce digital measures to make services more effective and organized. The meeting also stressed effective branding and public awareness of MSSUs so that better facilities can be provided to deserving individuals in line with the vision of the Chief Minister.
