The major service of Dar-ul-Aman is to provide shelter to the victims of violence. Moreover, medical, psychological and legal services are also provided to the women. During their stay, recreational activities, religious counseling and vocational training are also conducted for them.

In such case, she can come to the Shelter Homes which are established by the Department in 36 districts of Punjab.
   
Does Social Welfare Department have any institution for unclaimed children? Top
Yes, Department has one institution working in three districts of Punjab i.e. Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi. Gehwara is abandoned babies' home where parentless, unclaimed and deserted babies are looked after. Children from the age of 0-6 years are admitted into these homes. Meanwhile their adoption is arranged. In case, they are not adopted then they are shifted to the orphanages established by the Department.
