Story of an Ambitious Girl

ambNoreen was 14 years old when she came to Kashana. Before this, she was living happily with her family at her grandfather’s home. Her father was a laborer, and her mother was the only child of her grandparents and owner of all property. When her grandmother (Nani) died, her grandfather re-married and blessed with two kids, a daughter and a son. It was the time when her step grandmother started creating problems for her family. Due to some reasons, Noreen’s father divorced her mother and took the custody of all children. After sometime, her father married again. Her step mother did not behave well with her and her sisters. Keeping this situation in view, relatives of Noreen took all four sisters to Kashana and got them admitted there in year 2003.

Slowly and steadily, Noreen continued her journey to get better education; she appeared in Matric exams but failed in first attempt. However, she struggled hard and appeared again and cleared her Matric in third attempt. After that, she took her studies seriously and proceeded for F.A., B.A., and then B.Ed. She passed her B.Ed. exam in the year 2010. She worked as head girl of Kashana as she was mature, responsible and also serious in her studies. She did vocational course, one year diploma course of computer operator from Punjab Board of Technical Education, Lahore, and two months internship at Institute of Administrative Sciences, University of the Punjab, Lahore. She also completed her “Fehm-e-Quran” and “Daura-e-Tafseer” course from Al-Islah Foundation, Faisal Town, Lahore during her stay at Kashana.

When she completed her graduation and B.Ed., she got an employment offer in Bali Memorial Trust, Lahore which she accepted and started her professional life. As per rules of Kashana, being independent and employed, Noreen had to leave Kashana. She served in Bali for more than a year. Later in 2014, she filed a request to Superintendent Kashana for admission so that she can complete her Master Degree in Education. She was allowed by the management to appear in final exams. She stayed at Kashana for another one year and in 2014, she went to her hometown where she was appointed as a teacher in private school. Nowadays, she is teaching and living her life with her father and sisters, and also supporting them.

Journey from Nothing to Professional

journeyParveen was admitted in Kashana, Lahore almost 10 years back. At that time she was just 12 years old. She was second amongst her 6 siblings. She was orphan and belonged to a very poor family. She stayed at Kashana and got admitted in nearby government school where she completed her education and passed Matric. Later, she was admitted in a One Year Nursing Course at TEVTA Training Institute, Green Town, Lahore. After its completion, she did her 3 months internship at Jinnah Hospital, Lahore. After gaining experience from Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, she was discharged from institution and referred by Advisory Committee Kashana to Ehsan Mumtaz Hospital, Shokat Ali Road, Township, Lahore where she started her professional life as O.T. Staff and become a self-reliant individual. Now, she is earning more than PKR 12,000 per month and supporting her family. It has been 3 years that she is working there and is very satisfied. Kashana is still in contact with her and proud to see her excelling as a professional.

The Destination of Struggle

Zareena was studying in class 4th when she came to Kashana. She took admission in class 5th at a nearby government school. She was very well mannered and quite girl. She took keen interest in her education and when she was in 6th class, she started taking interest in sewing and stitching as well. In her early years in the institution, she was submissive and very silent girl but after few months she gained confidence due to close interaction with staff and other house girls. She completed her Matric in year 2012. Her Rasm-e-Henna and wedding ceremony were celebrated at Kashana, Lahore. She is happily married and blessed with a baby boy. She is very good in stitching and helping her family by taking orders at small level.
