Eligibility Criteria
The criteria is enlisted below:
- Special persons including physically and mentally challenged, and deaf and dump between age 18 to 50 years domiciled of Punjab are eligible to apply
- The recommendation of the District Assessment Board is mandatory for admission
- The applicant is not suffering from any infectious disease
- Drug addicts or persons without relatives/ guardians, unattainable or illiterate are ineligible for admission
Admission Procedure
- Any special person desirous of seeking admission in the institution is required to apply on the prescribed form obtainable from the office of institution and all district officers Social Welfare in Punjab.
- The period of stay/ training of a resident is three to six months depending upon duration of the course Extension of stay beyond course period is not granted in any case
- The guardians/ parents give firm written commitment of voluntary admission and subsequent possession for rehabilitation of their off springs after discharge from the institute
- Admission is made on merit after an assessment by an admission committee of the following:

Director (Programme), Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal, Punjab
Secretary
Superintendent, Home for Disabled Persons (Nasheman)
Members
Deputy Director (Planning), Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal, Punjab
Chairperson of Advisory Committee
Facilities
Nasheman provides following facilities to its residents:
- Free boarding & lodging
- Medical care in the Institution or through referral to medical institution

- Home Appliances Repairing (6 months)
- Software and Hardware packages (6 months)
